Job no: 494443Directly responsible for research, development and testing implementation of enhanced system applications to provide more efficient processes and streamlined workflow. Predict and/or research results, prepare analysis and provide recommendations for process and workflow improvements based on trending and efficiencies identified in Benefit Services' activities. Responsible for complete system testing to ensure system applications do not adversely affect other areas. Prepare reports for management regarding status of project(s). Accountable for enhanced system application training, documentation, and curriculum creation and dissemination.What you'll do:Design innovative code to reduce manual processes and benefit design technology to improve processes through Microsoft Business applications or imaging / workflow systems.Collaborate with business partners to identify and develop strategic plans for process improvements and system application enhancements to resolve complex issues, improve process efficiencies within Benefits Services workflow.Complete system testing to ensure system applications have a positive impact on all areasCreate and evaluate business requirements, procedures/ policies and review specifications for technology, process and workflow enhancements.Design and disseminate documentation and training curriculum for improved processes and system application enhancements.Prepare project analysis and present results of improvement efforts and ongoing performance measures processes to Management Team or other business partnersTo be considered for this position, you must have:Associate's degree and 6 months experience with Macros, Quick Keys, or Visual Basic required.Experience with Microsoft Business Applications, including Excel and Word.Microsoft office skills including Excel MacrosDesign innovative code to enhance system applications to resolve complex issues and improve process efficiencies workflowAn equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted to meet this requirement.The ability to meet or exceed the attendance and timeliness requirements of their departments.The ability to work well in a team environment, and be capable of building and maintaining positive relationships with other staff, departments, and customers.The strongest candidates for this position will also possess:Bachelor's degree2 years of health insurance industry experience, with claims processing knowledge preferredExperience with claims and benefit technology functions, information handling, work flow, distributed database development and data management functions a plusWe strongly believe that diversity of experience, perspectives, and background will lead to a better workplace for our employees and a better product for our customers and members.Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Nebraska is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - Minorities/Females/Disabled/Veterans
