Job DescriptionJob Title: Grain Superintendent/CDL Driver/Liquid, Dry, and NH3 Applicator Reports To: Location Manager/Operations Managers Position Objective: To service and follow-up all Grain and Agronomy products in a manner that will optimize StateLine Cooperatives market share, improve the cooperatives efficiency, help achieve the cooperativeis mission and goals, resulting in outstanding customer service.Primary Duties and ResponsibilityI.Grain Duties and Responsibilities: The position will be directly responsible for all aspects of the grain division at the location including but not limited to the following:A.Receiving and loading grainB.Operating and maintaining the grain dryerC.Keep accurate records of grain inventoriesD.Make sure facility is in compliance of OSHA's housekeeping requirements at all times.E.Fill out all repaired paperwork and permits for all activities that require such documentation prior to performing those duties.F.Inform Location Manager of any problems or potential problems with the facility or grain inventories.G.Loading and blending grain for unit trains. Trains needed to be loaded in 15 hours from time of placement, including nights and weekends. II.Loading & Delivery Duties: A.Loading and delivery involves loading product for customers at the plant and delivering product to customers in a safe and timely manner.B.Verify all product that is loaded and/or delivered.C.Ensure customer is provided with the exact product that was ordered.D.Load and unload products according to customeris and/or managementis requestE.Use extreme caution while driving in farmersi yards: drive slowly and watch for children, pets, toys, flower beds, hedges and lawns.F.Avoid damage to farmeris property when loading or unloading product.G.Allow no riders who have not been approved by your supervisor.III.ServiceA.Service walk-in customers as needed.B.Maintain proficiency in the operation of all SLC NH3 custom application equipment.C.Maintain proficiency in the operation of all SLC Liquid custom application equipment.D.Maintain proficiency in the operation of all SLC Dry custom application equipment.E.Assist in efficient movement of products between SLC facilities as needed.F.Be knowledgeable of NH3 plant and operations and work this area in season.G.Assist in operations and maintenance of bulk dry & liquid fertilizer storage facilities asneededH.Assist in maintenance and record keeping of all SLC trucks and Agronomy equipment.I.Maintain knowledge of NH3 application equipment, and be able to effectively troubleshoot in-field problems during application seasonsJ.Maintain proficiency in the operation of all SLC application monitors, auto steer and other in-cab electrical devices.IV.ProfessionalismA.Conduct yourself in a professional manner at all times.B.Attend schools and training pertaining to agronomy to maintain and build expertise asrequested.C.Coordinate activities with Location Manager to insure the best possible customer service is provided.D.Maintain communication with Location personnel as to your whereabouts or how youcan be reached at all times during inormali business hours.E.Maintain CDL driveris license and Iowa Pesticide Applicator License.V.EfficiencyA.Perform duties in an efficient manner so that whenever possible, excessive overtime is not required by yourself or others in the companyVI.Maintenance and SafetyA.Maintain any equipment used for your job in good physical and mechanical condition:B.Vehicles should be kept clean to present professional image.C.Regular maintenance of vehicles or equipment shall be performed at scheduledintervals.D.Report to Location Manager or Operations Manager any unsafe equipment or workingconditions.E.Facilities should be kept clean to present professional image.F.Operate equipment in a safe manner and in compliance with all OSHA or state ansfederal regulations.G.Communicate safe storage and handling procedures to all customers.H.Adhere to all company safety policies.
